The Pemberton is built on a single premise: that the most uncomplicated form of outdoor relaxation is a seat that moves in all four directions, held from a single point above. No frame to assemble. No base to position. Two ropes, one seat, and whatever overhead structure you choose to hang it from — a pergola beam, a sturdy tree branch, a vaulted conservatory ceiling. The mix-brown PE rattan seat is compact and robust — 69 cm wide, rated to 180 kg, and light enough at 4 kg to be unhooked and stored in seconds. The 2.8m ropes allow the seat to sit naturally at 30–40 cm from the ground when fixed at 1.65–1.75 m overhead. The 4-way swing motion — as opposed to the back-and-forth of a conventional swing — is the detail that makes the Pemberton what it is. It drifts. It responds. It does exactly what a swing is supposed to do.
