    Design details

    The Marloe is a four-piece outdoor lounge set — loveseat, two armchairs, and a rectangular coffee table — built on powder-coated steel frames wound in hand-woven PE rattan cord. The cord runs in tight vertical strands from the seat rail to the backrest, giving each piece its open structure without solid side panels.

    The PE rattan is UV-stabilised and weather-resistant. Unlike natural rattan, it won't absorb moisture, crack in frost, or fade with extended sun exposure. The weave carries a warm honey tone that holds colour through the UK seasons.

    Each seat carries an 8cm foam-padded seat cushion and a 15cm back cushion. The covers zip off for machine washing and are water-repellent — a practical requirement for outdoor furniture that stays out. Cushion inserts hold their shape through repeated use.

    The coffee table uses the same powder-coated steel legs and tops them with a smoked glass surface at 43cm height — low enough to sit naturally in front of the loveseat without reaching down. The glass surface wipes clean with a damp cloth and takes up to 30kg.

    The set seats four: two on the loveseat, one per chair. The 31cm seat height keeps the profile deliberately low — this is a lounging arrangement, not a dining one. The three seat pieces share the same frame dimensions in depth and height, so they read as a coherent set even when spaced freely across a patio or decking area.

    The difference between rope furniture that lasts and rope furniture that doesn't is in the tension of the weave. The Marloe uses hand-woven PE rattan cord over powder-coated steel frames — construction that weathers a full season without losing shape, colour, or the feel of something worth sitting in.

    The set comprises a loveseat, two armchairs, and a smoked glass coffee table — the proportions work together, and the cord weave matches across all four pieces. Seat cushions are 8cm thick with water-repellent removable covers. The smoked glass coffee table continues the material language across the set.     Yes — we deliver to all mainland UK addresses. All pieces are held in our UK warehouse, so there are no overseas wait times. Delivery is free on every order, with no minimum spend.

    Returns & Refunds

    You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return, with no need to give a reason. Items must be returned unused, unassembled, undamaged, and in their original packaging with proof of purchase. Please contact us at cs@rattanandrefined.co.uk before sending anything back — returns sent without prior approval cannot be processed.
    If you are returning an item because you've changed your mind, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. However, if your item arrived damaged, faulty, or incorrect, we will arrange and cover collection at no cost to you.
    Please email us at cs@rattanandrefined.co.uk as soon as possible with your order number and clear photos of the damage. We will assess the situation and arrange a replacement, exchange, or full refund — including free collection of the damaged item.
    Once your returned item has been received and inspected, we will notify you by email. If approved, your refund is processed to your original payment method. Depending on your bank or payment provider, refunds typically appear within 7 to 14 working days of us receiving the return.

    Products & Materials

    Natural rattan is sourced from the rattan palm and brings organic warmth and texture to an interior. Tonal variation between pieces is a natural characteristic, not a defect. It is best suited to indoor environments, away from prolonged moisture or direct sunlight.

    Synthetic (PE) rattan is a premium polyethylene weave engineered to resist UV, moisture, and heavy use without fading or warping. It has all the refinement of natural rattan and is suitable for both indoors and outdoors. Each product listing specifies which material it uses.
    Only pieces specifically described as suitable for outdoor use in their product listing should be placed outside. These are made with synthetic PE rattan, which is weatherproof and UV-resistant. Natural rattan pieces are indoor only — prolonged exposure to moisture, rain, or direct sunlight will cause them to weaken and deteriorate.
    Both natural and synthetic rattan wipe clean with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. For natural rattan, keep it away from excess moisture and store indoors. For synthetic rattan garden pieces, a gentle clean with soapy water and a soft brush is ideal. Rattan naturally improves in character over time with light use.
    Most pieces require light assembly. Each product listing specifies whether assembly is required and how involved it is. Clear, illustrated instructions are included in every box. No specialist tools are needed — a standard screwdriver is sufficient for most items. Assembly details are also listed in the Dimensions & Materials section of each product page.
    We photograph our pieces in natural light to represent colour and texture as accurately as possible. For natural rattan and wood, tonal variation is an inherent characteristic of the material — no two pieces are identical, and subtle differences in grain or weave are a sign of authenticity, not a defect. Screen calibration can also affect how colours appear, but we aim to represent every piece honestly.
