Bistro Set
The Ascot is a bistro set — which is to say, it is furniture built around the understanding that some of the best moments happen between two people and a small table. Morning coffee. An evening drink. A lunch that extends further than it was supposed to. Two chairs and a round glass-topped table, sized for exactly that. The rattan shell is open-woven in a warm honey tone, set on black hairpin legs in powder-coated steel. The combination is deliberate: natural material, industrial leg, mid-century discipline. The chairs are light enough to lift with one hand and compact enough to sit on a balcony without dominating it. The cushions are 4cm, removable, washable. The table feet adjust for uneven paving. The Ascot asks very little of the space it occupies, and gives a good deal back.
The rattan shell of the Ascot is woven open — horizontal strands with visible spacing between them. The result keeps the chair visually light, allows air to circulate through the seat, and catches the light differently throughout the day. The honey tone deepens in direct sun and warms in shade.
Black powder-coated steel hairpin legs support both chairs and table — a mid-century form that has remained in continuous production for good reason. Slender without being fragile, their angled geometry means the set takes up less floor space than the seated area suggests.
The round glass top measures 51 cm across — proportioned for two cups, a small plant, or a book and a drink. Adjustable feet compensate for uneven paving or decking, keeping the glass surface level regardless of the ground beneath. That precision is the point of a bistro table.
