    Design details

    The Harrow is a three-seater outdoor sofa built on a steel frame and enclosed in hand-woven PE rattan wicker. The weave wraps the frame completely — side panels, front skirt, armrests, and back panel — leaving no exposed metal sections. The rattan reads as a cool grey with slight tonal variation across the surface, a characteristic of traditional wicker weave where adjacent strands cross at alternating angles.

    The steel frame is powder-coated for corrosion resistance. The PE rattan wicker is UV-stabilised and weather-resistant — it won't fade, split, or absorb moisture like natural rattan used outdoors. The structure is solid-panel throughout, not an open skeleton, which gives the sofa its weight and stability at 22.9kg.

    Each of the three seat positions carries a 10cm padded foam cushion. Cushion covers zip off for machine washing and carry a water-resistant finish — a practical requirement for cushions left outside through changing weather. The wide flat armrests are fully enclosed in the same PE rattan weave and provide a solid resting surface.

    At 185cm wide with a 165cm seat span, the Harrow seats three adults with room at each position. The 35cm seat height sits at a standard garden sofa level — appropriate for use alongside a coffee table. Non-slip feet on the base keep the sofa stable on patio slabs and decking. Maximum load is 120kg per seat position.

    Most outdoor sofas sacrifice seat depth for weather resistance. The Harrow does not — a three-seater in hand-woven grey PE rattan wicker with 10cm seat cushions and a 60cm seat depth that functions as a sofa, not a garden bench with cushions on top.

    The frame is powder-coated steel; the rattan wicker is synthetic PE — UV-resistant and weatherproof, dimensionally stable through seasonal temperature changes. The 10cm cushions have water-resistant, removable covers. The sofa runs to 185cm across with a 35cm seat height — lower than indoor sofa proportions, which is the right height for outdoor relaxation rather than upright sitting. Maximum load is 120kg per seat. The unit weighs 22.9kg, which is light enough to move but heavy enough to stay put in wind.

    Returns & Refunds

    You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return, with no need to give a reason. Items must be returned unused, unassembled, undamaged, and in their original packaging with proof of purchase. Please contact us at cs@rattanandrefined.co.uk before sending anything back — returns sent without prior approval cannot be processed.
    If you are returning an item because you've changed your mind, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. However, if your item arrived damaged, faulty, or incorrect, we will arrange and cover collection at no cost to you.
    Please email us at cs@rattanandrefined.co.uk as soon as possible with your order number and clear photos of the damage. We will assess the situation and arrange a replacement, exchange, or full refund — including free collection of the damaged item.
    Once your returned item has been received and inspected, we will notify you by email. If approved, your refund is processed to your original payment method. Depending on your bank or payment provider, refunds typically appear within 7 to 14 working days of us receiving the return.

    Products & Materials

    Natural rattan is sourced from the rattan palm and brings organic warmth and texture to an interior. Tonal variation between pieces is a natural characteristic, not a defect. It is best suited to indoor environments, away from prolonged moisture or direct sunlight.

    Synthetic (PE) rattan is a premium polyethylene weave engineered to resist UV, moisture, and heavy use without fading or warping. It has all the refinement of natural rattan and is suitable for both indoors and outdoors. Each product listing specifies which material it uses.
    Only pieces specifically described as suitable for outdoor use in their product listing should be placed outside. These are made with synthetic PE rattan, which is weatherproof and UV-resistant. Natural rattan pieces are indoor only — prolonged exposure to moisture, rain, or direct sunlight will cause them to weaken and deteriorate.
    Both natural and synthetic rattan wipe clean with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. For natural rattan, keep it away from excess moisture and store indoors. For synthetic rattan garden pieces, a gentle clean with soapy water and a soft brush is ideal. Rattan naturally improves in character over time with light use.
    Most pieces require light assembly. Each product listing specifies whether assembly is required and how involved it is. Clear, illustrated instructions are included in every box. No specialist tools are needed — a standard screwdriver is sufficient for most items. Assembly details are also listed in the Dimensions & Materials section of each product page.
    We photograph our pieces in natural light to represent colour and texture as accurately as possible. For natural rattan and wood, tonal variation is an inherent characteristic of the material — no two pieces are identical, and subtle differences in grain or weave are a sign of authenticity, not a defect. Screen calibration can also affect how colours appear, but we aim to represent every piece honestly.
