    The Wexford Rattan Shoe Cabinet has four rattan-panel doors arranged in a 2×2 grid, each operating on a flip-down mechanism — the door swings outward and down to reveal tiered angled shelves inside, then clicks back flush. The rattan panels are woven in a fine open grid: air moves through the doors continuously, so shoes dry between uses and the compartments stay odour-free without airing out.

    The frame is in a light oak grain finish. The four legs are solid wood with a round profile, set wide enough to prevent forward tipping when doors are open. Below the cabinet, the open floor section adds flat storage for everyday shoes — typically 4–6 pairs.

    Suited for hallways, entryways, and bedroom alcoves. The flat top surface is wide enough for a lamp, tray, or keys.

    Shoe storage usually ends up either too small or too prominent. The Wexford answers both — a 4-compartment cabinet with flip-down doors in woven rattan mesh, set on solid wood legs in a light oak finish that works in hallways, bedrooms, and utility rooms equally.

    Each of the four compartments has a flip-down door with a natural rattan mesh panel — the weave is open enough to allow air circulation, which matters in enclosed shoe storage. The compartments are 46.5cm wide and 36.2cm tall, which accommodates most footwear up to UK size 14. The cabinet sits on 12cm tapered solid wood legs that keep it off the floor and give it a lighter visual footprint than floor-standing alternatives. The overall height of 90.3cm puts it at a level that doesn't break up a hallway wall.

    Returns & Refunds

Items must be returned unused, unassembled, undamaged, and in their original packaging with proof of purchase.     If you are returning an item because you've changed your mind, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. However, if your item arrived damaged, faulty, or incorrect, we will arrange and cover collection at no cost to you.
    Please email us at cs@rattanandrefined.co.uk as soon as possible with your order number and clear photos of the damage. We will assess the situation and arrange a replacement, exchange, or full refund — including free collection of the damaged item.
    Once your returned item has been received and inspected, we will notify you by email. If approved, your refund is processed to your original payment method. Depending on your bank or payment provider, refunds typically appear within 7 to 14 working days of us receiving the return.

    Products & Materials

    Natural rattan is sourced from the rattan palm and brings organic warmth and texture to an interior. Tonal variation between pieces is a natural characteristic, not a defect. It is best suited to indoor environments, away from prolonged moisture or direct sunlight.

    Synthetic (PE) rattan is a premium polyethylene weave engineered to resist UV, moisture, and heavy use without fading or warping. It has all the refinement of natural rattan and is suitable for both indoors and outdoors. Each product listing specifies which material it uses.
    Only pieces specifically described as suitable for outdoor use in their product listing should be placed outside. These are made with synthetic PE rattan, which is weatherproof and UV-resistant. Natural rattan pieces are indoor only — prolonged exposure to moisture, rain, or direct sunlight will cause them to weaken and deteriorate.
    Both natural and synthetic rattan wipe clean with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. For natural rattan, keep it away from excess moisture and store indoors. For synthetic rattan garden pieces, a gentle clean with soapy water and a soft brush is ideal. Rattan naturally improves in character over time with light use.
    Most pieces require light assembly. Each product listing specifies whether assembly is required and how involved it is. Clear, illustrated instructions are included in every box. No specialist tools are needed — a standard screwdriver is sufficient for most items. Assembly details are also listed in the Dimensions & Materials section of each product page.
    We photograph our pieces in natural light to represent colour and texture as accurately as possible. For natural rattan and wood, tonal variation is an inherent characteristic of the material — no two pieces are identical, and subtle differences in grain or weave are a sign of authenticity, not a defect. Screen calibration can also affect how colours appear, but we aim to represent every piece honestly.
