The Waverley is a 120cm oval coffee table with a clear tempered glass top and a sculptural rattan base. The base is formed from bent rattan poles assembled into an arched cluster structure — four arching sections meet at the centre and fan outward at the foot, creating a lantern-like silhouette beneath the glass.

The glass top is 8mm oval tempered glass with polished edges, measuring 120 × 70 cm. It sits directly on the rattan base without a frame, secured by four clear silicone pads. The rattan is natural cane in a light honey tone.

Lovely but watch the glass

Really pleased with it overall. Only reason it's not five stars is the glass shows every single fingerprint and my two year old is obsessed with it. That's on me though not the table. The walnut finish is gorgeous in person.

Worth the wait

Ordered this after weeks of going back and forth between a few options. The cane underneath is much finer than it looks online — more of a tight weave than the chunky stuff you see everywhere. Glass is proper thick too, not flimsy. Took my husband and I about 25 minutes to put together.

Most glass coffee tables rest on legs. The Waverley rests on a rattan arch — four bent poles that rise from the floor, meet at the centre, and fan back out to form a lantern-shaped base that the oval glass top sits directly above.

The base arrives fully assembled. Assembly means placing the 8mm oval tempered glass onto the base and pressing the four silicone pads into position. The rattan is natural honey-tone cane with no stain or lacquer. The glass is 120 × 70 cm with polished edges.

The base is what you buy this table for. The glass is what makes the base visible.

Orders are dispatched within 1 working day (Monday to Friday, excluding UK bank holidays). Once dispatched, delivery takes 1–3 working days. The estimated total time from placing your order is 2 to 4 working days. Orders placed before 3:00 PM (GMT) on a working day are processed the same day.

Returns & Refunds

If you are returning an item because you've changed your mind, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. However, if your item arrived damaged, faulty, or incorrect, we will arrange and cover collection at no cost to you.
Please email us at cs@rattanandrefined.co.uk as soon as possible with your order number and clear photos of the damage. We will assess the situation and arrange a replacement, exchange, or full refund — including free collection of the damaged item.

Products & Materials

Natural rattan is sourced from the rattan palm and brings organic warmth and texture to an interior. Tonal variation between pieces is a natural characteristic, not a defect. It is best suited to indoor environments, away from prolonged moisture or direct sunlight.

Synthetic (PE) rattan is a premium polyethylene weave engineered to resist UV, moisture, and heavy use without fading or warping. It has all the refinement of natural rattan and is suitable for both indoors and outdoors. Each product listing specifies which material it uses.
Only pieces specifically described as suitable for outdoor use in their product listing should be placed outside. These are made with synthetic PE rattan, which is weatherproof and UV-resistant. Natural rattan pieces are indoor only — prolonged exposure to moisture, rain, or direct sunlight will cause them to weaken and deteriorate.
Both natural and synthetic rattan wipe clean with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. For natural rattan, keep it away from excess moisture and store indoors. For synthetic rattan garden pieces, a gentle clean with soapy water and a soft brush is ideal. Rattan naturally improves in character over time with light use.
Most pieces require light assembly. Each product listing specifies whether assembly is required and how involved it is. Clear, illustrated instructions are included in every box. No specialist tools are needed — a standard screwdriver is sufficient for most items. Assembly details are also listed in the Dimensions & Materials section of each product page.
We photograph our pieces in natural light to represent colour and texture as accurately as possible. For natural rattan and wood, tonal variation is an inherent characteristic of the material — no two pieces are identical, and subtle differences in grain or weave are a sign of authenticity, not a defect. Screen calibration can also affect how colours appear, but we aim to represent every piece honestly.
