The Henley is a rocking egg chair in hand-woven PE rattan — a wide, cushioned basket seat on a reinforced steel rocking frame. The rocking motion is smooth and continuous, designed to relieve muscle tension rather than simply tilt the seat. The oversized 15cm tufted cushion fills the bowl of the basket completely. Rocking Egg Chair
The Henley introduces something that most chairs — rattan or otherwise — choose to leave out: motion. The steel rocking frame is precision-welded and reinforced to provide a smooth, continuous arc that does not jar, click, or stop unexpectedly. It is the kind of movement that encourages the body to release tension rather than resist it. The basket is hand-woven PE rattan in a warm brown tone, wide enough to sit with legs tucked or extended. The 15cm tufted cushion fills the bowl of the seat completely — it does not shift or compress to one side under extended use. The covers are removable and wipe clean. At 181 kg rated and built for year-round outdoor conditions, the Henley does not make a compromise between comfort and durability. It finds both, in the same frame.
The steel rocking frame is precision-welded and reinforced — rated to 181 kg, with a geometry designed for smooth, balanced motion rather than abrupt tipping. The arc of the rocker is calibrated to keep the centre of gravity consistent through the full range of movement, preventing the forward-drop that lesser rocking chairs produce at the end of their range.
At 15cm of tufted fill, the cushion is substantially deeper than a standard seat cushion. The tufting keeps the fill distributed evenly across the bowl of the seat rather than allowing it to compress toward the centre under body weight. UV-protected covers zip off for cleaning.
The Henley arrives in pre-assembled sections that connect in approximately 10 minutes without specialist tools. Frame surfaces are mark-resistant and wipe clean; the PE rattan requires no treatment. A chair ready to use shortly after it arrives, and requiring very little after that.
