    The Cranleigh Rattan Bed Double is a 4ft6 bed frame for 135 × 190cm mattresses up to 20cm deep. The headboard is built from pine posts with a ridged column profile, a horizontal open rail at the top, and two rattan-textured panels filling the surface below. The footboard mirrors the same panels at a lower height across the full width of the frame. Both faces sit in the same warm natural timber tone.

    The panel surfaces are MDF with an imitation rattan texture — a pressed grid pattern that reads as woven rattan from across the room and is stable under central heating in the way natural rattan is not. The slat base is multilayer board with fixed wooden slats running across the full 135cm width. The frame holds up to 500 lbs (approximately 227kg).

    Headboard height: 98cm from the floor. Footboard height: 58cm. Underbed clearance: 17cm — enough for standard under-bed storage boxes. Self-assembly, all fixings included.

    Double beds are often where the character of a room is decided. The Cranleigh decides it in a specific direction — solid pine column posts at each corner, imitation rattan MDF panels in the headboard and footboard, and a fixed slat base that requires no box spring.

    The rattan panels are MDF with an imitation rattan texture — they read as woven from across the room and hold their form without the seasonal movement that solid natural rattan would introduce into a bed frame. The pine posts give the corners a vertical presence without bulk. The frame fits a standard 4ft6 mattress at 135x190cm, with 17cm of clearance underneath for under-bed storage. The headboard stands at 98cm — tall enough to lean against without a cushion stack behind you.

    Returns & Refunds

    You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return, with no need to give a reason. Items must be returned unused, unassembled, undamaged, and in their original packaging with proof of purchase. Please contact us at cs@rattanandrefined.co.uk before sending anything back — returns sent without prior approval cannot be processed.
    If you are returning an item because you've changed your mind, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. However, if your item arrived damaged, faulty, or incorrect, we will arrange and cover collection at no cost to you.
    Please email us at cs@rattanandrefined.co.uk as soon as possible with your order number and clear photos of the damage. We will assess the situation and arrange a replacement, exchange, or full refund — including free collection of the damaged item.
    Once your returned item has been received and inspected, we will notify you by email. If approved, your refund is processed to your original payment method. Depending on your bank or payment provider, refunds typically appear within 7 to 14 working days of us receiving the return.

    Products & Materials

    Natural rattan is sourced from the rattan palm and brings organic warmth and texture to an interior. Tonal variation between pieces is a natural characteristic, not a defect. It is best suited to indoor environments, away from prolonged moisture or direct sunlight.

    Synthetic (PE) rattan is a premium polyethylene weave engineered to resist UV, moisture, and heavy use without fading or warping. It has all the refinement of natural rattan and is suitable for both indoors and outdoors. Each product listing specifies which material it uses.
    Only pieces specifically described as suitable for outdoor use in their product listing should be placed outside. These are made with synthetic PE rattan, which is weatherproof and UV-resistant. Natural rattan pieces are indoor only — prolonged exposure to moisture, rain, or direct sunlight will cause them to weaken and deteriorate.
    Both natural and synthetic rattan wipe clean with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. For natural rattan, keep it away from excess moisture and store indoors. For synthetic rattan garden pieces, a gentle clean with soapy water and a soft brush is ideal. Rattan naturally improves in character over time with light use.
    Most pieces require light assembly. Each product listing specifies whether assembly is required and how involved it is. Clear, illustrated instructions are included in every box. No specialist tools are needed — a standard screwdriver is sufficient for most items. Assembly details are also listed in the Dimensions & Materials section of each product page.
    We photograph our pieces in natural light to represent colour and texture as accurately as possible. For natural rattan and wood, tonal variation is an inherent characteristic of the material — no two pieces are identical, and subtle differences in grain or weave are a sign of authenticity, not a defect. Screen calibration can also affect how colours appear, but we aim to represent every piece honestly.
