Article 1

Identification of the Seller

These Terms of Sale govern all purchases made through the Rattan & Refined online store. The seller is:

Article 2

Scope and Purpose

These Terms apply to all orders placed on rattanandrefined.co.uk by consumers residing in the United Kingdom. They govern the entire relationship between Rattan & Refined and the customer, from order placement through to delivery and any subsequent return.

By placing an order, the customer acknowledges having read and accepted these Terms in full. The version in force at the time of the order is the applicable version.

Article 3

Products

Rattan & Refined sells rattan and outdoor furniture for residential use. Each product listing includes a description, dimensions, materials, and available variants. Photographs are as accurate as possible; minor variations in colour or texture due to screen calibration or the natural character of materials are not considered defects.

All products are subject to availability. If an ordered item becomes unavailable after order confirmation, we will notify the customer promptly and offer a full refund or a suitable alternative.

Article 4

Prices

All prices are displayed in Pounds Sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable. Rattan & Refined reserves the right to modify prices at any time. The price applicable to an order is the price shown at the moment of order confirmation.

Any delivery charges are displayed separately at checkout prior to final confirmation.

Article 5

Order Process

The purchase process follows these steps:

  • Selection of product(s) and addition to basket
  • Review of basket contents
  • Entry of delivery and billing information
  • Selection of payment method and confirmation
  • Receipt of order confirmation by email

The sale contract is formed upon receipt of the order confirmation email. The customer is advised to retain this for their records.

Article 6

Order Confirmation

Following successful payment, a confirmation email is sent to the address provided at checkout, summarising the items ordered, delivery address, and total amount charged.

If no confirmation is received within 24 hours, please contact cs@rattanandrefined.co.uk before placing a duplicate order.

Article 7

Payment

Payment is taken in full at the time of ordering. Rattan & Refined accepts major credit and debit cards and other methods available at checkout. All transactions are processed securely. Card details are never stored by Rattan & Refined.

In the event of a failed or declined payment, the order will not be processed and the customer will be invited to use an alternative method.

Article 8

Dispatch and Delivery

Orders are dispatched within 1 to 2 business days of payment confirmation, subject to stock availability.

Estimated delivery to UK addresses is 3 to 7 working days from dispatch. These are estimates and not guaranteed. Rattan & Refined is not liable for delays caused by carriers, customs, or events beyond our control.

A dispatch notification including tracking information is sent by email once the order has been collected by the carrier. If no one is available at time of delivery, the courier will follow their standard re-delivery or collection procedure.

Article 9

Transfer of Risk

Risk in the goods passes to the customer upon delivery. Ownership passes upon receipt of full payment.

In the event that goods are lost or damaged in transit, the customer must notify us within 48 hours of the expected delivery date. Claims raised after this period may not be accepted.

Article 10

Right of Withdrawal

In accordance with the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, customers have the right to withdraw from their purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving any reason.

To exercise this right, the customer must notify Rattan & Refined before the 14-day period expires by emailing cs@rattanandrefined.co.uk or by completing the withdrawal form in Annex 1.

Upon valid notification, return instructions will be provided. The customer bears the cost of return shipping unless the goods are defective or incorrectly supplied.

Article 11

Returns and Refunds

Rattan & Refined accepts returns within 30 days of delivery. To be eligible, items must be unused, in their original condition and packaging, and accompanied by proof of purchase.

To initiate a return, contact cs@rattanandrefined.co.uk before sending any item back. Returns sent without prior authorisation may not be accepted.

Once the returned item is received and inspected, a refund will be issued to the original payment method within 14 days. We reserve the right to reduce the refund if the goods show signs of use beyond what is necessary to assess their condition.

Items that are personalised, made to order, or marked as final sale are not eligible for return unless defective.

Article 12

Defective Goods and Legal Guarantee

All products must conform to their description, be of satisfactory quality, and be fit for purpose, in accordance with the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015.

If a product is found to be defective or not as described, the customer must notify us within a reasonable time of discovering the fault. We will offer repair, replacement, or a full refund depending on the nature and timing of the defect.

This guarantee does not cover damage resulting from misuse, normal wear and tear, improper assembly, or storage contrary to product instructions.

Article 13

Limitation of Liability

Rattan & Refined shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from the use or inability to use any purchased product, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.

Our total liability for any order shall not exceed the value of that order. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Article 14

Force Majeure

Rattan & Refined shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform where such delay results from events outside our reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of government, strikes, pandemics, or carrier disruptions.

In such circumstances, we will notify the customer as soon as practicable. If fulfilment becomes impossible, the customer is entitled to a full refund.

Article 15

Personal Data

Personal data collected during the order process is processed by VVI Consulting in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Data is used solely for order processing, delivery, and customer service — and, where consent is given, for marketing communications.

We do not sell personal data to third parties. Data may be shared with carriers to fulfil delivery. Customers may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their data by contacting cs@rattanandrefined.co.uk.

Article 16

Intellectual Property

All content on the Rattan & Refined website — including text, photography, design, product names, and branding — is the exclusive property of VVI Consulting and is protected by applicable intellectual property law.

No content may be reproduced, distributed, or used for commercial purposes without prior written consent.

Article 17

Applicable Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Belgium. Customers resident in the United Kingdom additionally benefit from the mandatory consumer protections of UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, which cannot be excluded by these Terms.

In the event of a dispute, we invite customers to contact us at cs@rattanandrefined.co.uk so that we may resolve the matter amicably.

Annex 2

Return Procedure

Step 1 — Email cs@rattanandrefined.co.uk with your order number and reason for return. Do not send items back without authorisation.

Step 2 — Pack the item securely in its original packaging. Include your order reference inside the parcel.

Step 3 — Ship to the return address provided by our team. We recommend a tracked service. Return shipping costs are borne by the customer unless the item is defective.

Step 4 — Upon receipt and inspection, your refund will be processed within 14 days to the original payment method.
